My experiences as a baby boomer in the local community college was different than those of my college days in the 1960s. The desire was there but not the drive.

By summer 2009, we will hear, "I'm out of gas," more than we have ever heard it before. We are about to elect a "green" president. Neither Obama nor McCain want to drill for oil in the U.S. In '09, gas prices will rise, and the only question is, "How much?"

Audits make a strong impression on an operation, so an auditor or inspector should always treat the operation and employees respectfully and honestly. The operation being audited or inspected should treat the auditors or inspectors in the same way.

Advertisers, lawyers, salesmen and politicians are all more than willing to test the gullibility of the American public. So far we have not been rising to the challenge very well.

Do your part with your cooperation and high performance level to ensure that managers will always desire your local workforce solutions first before something like outsourcing is considered. Do not allow outsourcing to be an easy alternative for management.

Today's educational system really astounds me at times. We have teachers unions (but no students union), tenure, "no tolerance" policies and other aspects of education that really make you wonder if there is any sanity left in this country.

There are always new programs being advocated by very bright people. Most of them promise to reduce expenses and/or increase revenues. There is a saying, "We will prove that the programs do not work by implementing them as designed."

I believe that economic status can be as much a determining factor in your child's self-confidence and overall outcome as any other factor they encounter in school including race. My analysis of this can be evaluated based upon my exposure to both sides of the issue.

How much work should a teenager be involved in outside of school? When should children develop a work ethic?
