Dictionary.com defines primitive in part as; old fashioned, simple, crude, or unrefined. These are very good words to define the style of decorating called "primitive".

How many toys have you bought your child, sure they would find hours of delight with the flashing lights, the funny sounds, and the endless "educational" properties of the toy? And then how many of those toys sat unnoticed while your child had a blast playing with the box?

I found out, rather by accident, that a friend of mine is a Jehovah's Witness. We were sitting in her shop one day when the topic of Christmas music came up. I said in a joking manner that my friend might be a Jehovah's Witness, and my friend replied, "I am, actually".
