For the past month, I've driven past my favorite coffee shop twice a week hoping it would re-open. In Post-Katrina New Orleans, you just never know. Old coffee shops return, slouching toward normalcy, and new coffee shops emerge in the wake of chaos.
It's been almost two months since Hurricane Katrina flooded 80% of New Orleans. While much of the city remains uninhabited and uninhabitable, Uptown shows signs of normality. But it's not the "old normal," it's a "new normal."
