A springtime, veggie-lovers bountiful Easter basket.
By taking a look at day-to-day life, things we automatically use and discard, we can find ways to be a little more "earth-friendly." This can oftentimes mean a fatter wallet in return.
I have no problem talking to my babies and kids in the van or pretty much anywhere because it teaches them vocabulary and communication.
Spring is upon us, soon to be followed by swimsuit season. It's time to think about eating well and (in my case) losing the baby fat. Quick snacks are usually the culprit for weight gain and unsightly flab. Freeze some healthy snacks ahead of time to be prepared.
Sometime in my first few years of adulthood I lost the ability to bake cookies. The one day my mil-to-be offered me a cookie from a plateful of spice cookies sitting on her table that were the perfect chewy consistency and very tasty!
The time put into measuring flour, yeast, salt, NFD milk (non-fat dry milk), gluten, dough enhancer, sugar and the liquid ingredients, and then washing the measuring utensils adds up. Counter it with bread kits.
Today I am making roast beef. We will have the traditional Sunday dinner on Saturday because I feel like it. I'm even going to make Yorkshire pudding. We're going to have it with potatoes and carrots like my sweetie prefers.
Recently I had a reader ask me how I find 8-9 hours in a day to cook with small children. It takes a little planning and know-how, but then anyone can do it without having to hire a sitter.
Once upon a time, not so very long ago, in a place too close to home, there were two lonely cups of orange JELL-O ®. These two orange JELL-O cups aspired to greatness and would discuss daily how they could achieve such a lofty goal.
We make our own ice cubes. Keep reading. I'm a high-taster. Danny is a low-taster. These things don't matter to him. But they matter to me. We have nasty, nasty water here in the frozen north. And it makes for even nastier ice cubes.
Soup is a wonderful, inexpensive way to fill your freezer with meals. If you have a big enough pot, double the recipe. It's fast to assemble and doesn't take much babysitting while simmering.
Unless you are having an estate sale or selling at least 90% of the furniture you own, it is unlikely that you will make any much money at a yard sale. But I'm not saying not to have one. I love a good bargain.
After you are done frying up a pound of your favorite mouth-watering, sizzling bacon, and it's draining on a plate lined with paper towels, don't throw out the grease! What do you think makes Grandma's artery-clogging pancake, bacon, and eggs breakfasts so good?
Plan out homemade desserts and treats to go in your freezer, and you will save A LOT of time and money.
What are some ideas for making this day special for my sweetie or kids? We like to go ALL OUT with the celebrating. Holiday traditions are a wonderful way to create strong family bonds.
This is valuable information if you or your family like peanut butter sandwiches and eat them at least once a month. I recently found out my children are willing to eat peanut butter and honey sandwiches every day or even twice a day. This is good news for me!
My dad hates leftovers. When Danny was finishing his bachelor's degree, and we were living with my parents, we all took turns cooking.
