Not all medicine can be cut up. There are many meds that need to be taken without food to get the maximum effect.

Here's an idea: cut the medicine into little tiny pieces. Mix it with your wet food (or soft Non-shewing food) then give it to the dog. Problem Solve! Good idea or Bad idea? Please comment

Anne,unfortuneately the hiding in food method does not work for every dog. I had a Jack Russell that could find a pill in anything!

although this is helpful... i have a much better way of giving a dog a pill. Unless you are really opposed to giving your dog 'people food', wrapping the pill in a piece of lunchmeat like salami or bologna makes it super easy to get your dog to be excited... he doesn't even know he's taking a pill!

Cheese always works great for me. Dogs love the stuff. When I was a teenager we had cows. Very tricky cause they'll hide it under their tongue and spit it out. lol
