How the Pensacola Beach Police Violated My Civil Rights

Rating: 3.3 of 5

Nickelodeon brought its Slime Across America show to Pensacola Beach. And during the course of the show, the Pensacola Beach Police or the rent-a-cops or whatever fascist organization was "running" security violated my civil rights.

Wow, you're the Rosa Parks of Pensacola.

Well, could have done without the name calling of someone ugly and fat - but short of that, I agree that you had a right to say something about this.

People can be so rude! Starting with the lady. If she'd touched my child to make him move, it would've been ugly. You reacted more nicely than I would have. The cop was way out of line, but I agree with Dayanara452, she was black, you and the cop were white. White people don't have a leg to stand on anymore when it comes to our rights. Black people have taken advantage of it. It's turning the other way now, whites are discriminated against.

I'm confused. Was the purpose of "making way" just to allow the kid to come back from the bathroom or wherever and hang out with his group rather than being alone somewhere else? That would make sense as it's no different than a child sitting with one's family at an event. But if this was a standing event, how hard would it be for anyone to make room, especially his own party of folks?

Tim- Interesting. I agree that the police officer was in the wrong. I say this as a former police officer speaking from experience. He should've told that lady to shut her mouth, but I'm sure was scared of the fact that she was black, and she would get her way after getting Al Sharpton involved. But really, you're talking about just one officer. please don't refer to them as rent-a-cops. That's so dumb. It's too bad that the actions of just one person can tarnish the reputation of the rest of the profession. He's just one person on a power trip. That's all. He couldn't do a damn thing to you even if you ignored him, politely. Take care!
